I’ve been a fan ever since hearing “Foxy Lady” on the radio. As many Hendrix fans will tell you, there was nothing quite like hearing Hendrix for the first time. As a youth, I was mostly impressed with the guitar playing – but I later came to really respect his singing and songwriting. And now all three members of The Jimi Hendrix Experience have passed away. In 2008, I got to meet Eddie Kramer – the guy who helped them make some of their memorable records (I never knew Kramer was from South Africa!).

The original LP’s & 45’s sound the best. I am not a fan of the way the current crop of CD re-issues sound. If I had to pick a favorite, I would say that the single of “Crosstown Traffic” does the trick for me, still.

A few years back, I found several of the “cash-in” LP’s: “Attention”, “In The Beginning”, “What’d I Say” etc. I never heard those at the time, so it was amusing to see / hear the varying amounts of actual Hendrix involvement (or not).

It also worth pointing out that Jimi Hendrix produced at least two albums outside of the Experience – Eire Apparent and Cat Mother & The All-Night News Boys.
