1998? 9 TRKS Live, Australia

Another great Australian band. I got to see them play at The Roxy in Los Angeles, at the time of “Tempermental” (which I think is their strongest album). I have at least two (Australian) home videos (a clip collection and a live show).

For a band that was always sort of a ‘secret’, it was strange to see them get a big notice for their “I Touch Myself” single. They were on US TV a lot, during 1990/1991 – usually playing live (a good thing).

When the CD of their debut, “Monkey Grip” (a soundtrack, no less) came out, my friend Gary in New Zealand gave it / sent it to me. I like it better than almost everything else they ever did, with the possible exception of “Tempermental”.

Mark McEntee always sort of reminded me of Keith Richard – chemically refreshed. I hope he’s OK now. And Christine Amphlett could always ‘deliver the goods’, an amazing singer – an amazing woman!
