I thought I’d try another chronological band listing. I came on board at “Unlimited Edition” in about ’75. In ’08, the only original LP I’m missing is “Future Days”, if anyone would like to help me out by finding a reasonably priced UK or German LP copy…

I met Holger Czukay in Koln at the time of “On The Way To The Peak Of Normal”; Hildegarde Schmidt (Can’s manager) put me in touch with Swiss guitarist Thomas Diethelm. Great people. As solo artists, each member of Can will get their own blog.

Can never played in the U.S., that I am aware of. I urge you to buy their DVD set that is presently available, it’s very groovy. I confess that I cried when I saw how sensitively they handled discussing the death of guitarist Michael Karoli, showing his empty chair, when it was his turn to be interviewed for the DVD audience.

And I really liked “Rite Time” – don’t under-estimate it! And please go out and find Irmin Schmidt’s “Soundtracks” 3CD set on Spoon – just amazing.

I regard Can as one of my favourite groups. I recall dancing and listening to Tago Mago after a rehearsal. Played Halleluwah out on the PA - really loud late at night. Drunk, not much clothes... oh, memories (I like to think that I don't like nostalgia, but oh, lovely)
