Ringo Starr! Richard Starkey! One of two Beatles who still walk the Earth. I never got his first two solo albums, “Sentimental Journey” or “Beaucoup Of Blues” – but I love his singles of that era – “It Don’t Come Easy” and “Back Off Boogaloo” – both of which can be had easily on Ringo’s first “Best Of” album, “Blast From Your Past”.

I tried to buy everything contiguously up to “Old Wave” at the time – and I realize that there may be a few more 90’s titles I have missed – and I understand there’s a new compilation CD set coming out soon – if not already – gee, I’d love a DVD of his Apple label promo films!

I probably like “Goodnight Vienna” the best of the batch, with the self-titled “Ringo” LP closely behind. I remember buying the pre-recorded cassette of “Ringo” as it had the variant version of “Six O’Clock” on it, with Paul McCartney on vocals.

So – which ones have I missed? There must be a few…apart from the two I have previously mentioned.

Ron,

I am surprised that during one of your country music runs, you did not pick up “Beaucoup Of Blues." I think it is one his best lps period. Pure gold 1970 Nashville session men backing Ringo. Complete opposite to the oldies/standards on the first solo lp.

Just loved the DVD that came with the new 'best of' CD, really great - and not too long, either. Just right,
