Supreme Australian band! I first wrote about MAA in 2002, right after I started my first blog (“20th Century Music”) – and that was only for their “Creatures of Leisure” album. “Fundamental” was the album that got me going, buoyed by their superlative video “Monumental” – 90 minutes of their fabulous music videos (up to that point, as in everything up to but not including “Big Wheel”). Elvis Costello produced their single, “If You Leave Me, Can I Come Too?” – have you heard it?

There are many MAA 45’s & 12” singles, CD Singles. There are MANY solo works by the members of MAA – Beatfish, Dogtrumpet, The Stetsons etc. Reg & Pete are gone these days, but the band soldiers on with Greedy and Martin. My friend Warren just saw them play live in Melbourne earlier this year.

I totally love this band as well, but I was never aggressive in collecting their singles. Hey,wouldn't a b-sides CD-R be a worthy project? (nudge, nudge,..)

Twenty years ago Kenna and I made our own mix tape for our wedding reception and we made sure "Let's Go To Paradise" was played early on. There were a few who "got it".

Brian,

Rather than us do the work, let's wait for their albums to come back as clear tray re-masters with bonus tracks. I do not have everything, by any stretch of the imagination, but I do have quite a few MAA singles...

Um, the MAA track that Elvis Costello produced was "I Didn't Mean To Be Mean"...
