To alleviate all the heaviness of this week (Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep etc.) today I want to give a shout out to Peter Blegvad. Let’s not forget the masterful album by The Lodge “Smell Of A Friend” or all of those fine Slapp Happy albums that he’s on! I also have his book of “Leviathan” cartoons – most excellent! I saw him live once at McCabe’s in Santa Monica, CA. My first exposure to PB? It’s him singing somewhere towards the end of Side 2 of “The Faust Tapes” by Faust. That’s gotta be it.

So, Peter Blegvad! Friend or foe? Peel's foe not a set animal laminates a tone of sleep…the world’s longest and funniest palindrome? Robert Wyatt sings it nicely on John Greaves’ “Songs” 1995 CD. It’s written by Peter Blegvad (on “Kew Rhone”).

Don't think it is PB on the Faust Tapes - I listened to it this morning & was quite disappointed not to hear his voice.

He's on the song a little more than 1/2 way through Side 2, with the line "So long it's breaking my head" in it.
